My cousin Sandy, as I mentioned earlier, is an astrocartographer, among other things. Two weeks ago (when the reviews came out), I called her up to ask if there was any strange planetary action going on. She said 'yes' and explained that Saturn was in a transit pattern over San Francisco at the time, causing all kinds of disturbance. Saturn is apparently a bad news planet altogether, notorious for bringing prosperity to a grinding halt. What it meant for us in the Lennon camp was that we had inadvertantly landed in the wrong place at the wrong time to open this show. This information came in very handy as we were all scratching our heads trying to suss out why things were suddenly so weird here. Out of the blue we'd found ourselves on shaky ground, with people pissed off, pointing fingers every which way, etc. Things would eventually be okay, Sandy told me, but it would take a lot of hard work to dig us out of the mud and regain the momentum. She decided to come and help.

What I also learned was that my Saturn was in the same pattern, so I was basically feeling everything the show was feeling. This explained a lot, like why I was uncharacteristically emotional the day my wife and son left town, and why it was taking so long for some of my goals to come to any fruition. But this week, thanks to a lot of hard work and several deep meditations, I feel like we're pulling away from the gravitational influence of that karmic planet.

For example, I've been working with Epiphone (who makes Lennon guitars) for about two months to get some extra gear for the show. Locking this deal in place would mean at least a little feather in my cap, maybe more. After weeks of uncertainty, three brand new guitars were delivered on Friday, and more stuff is coming soon. We've also been hearing from Don, who's been hard at work revising the script, and he has nothing but great things to say about the new material and the kind souls who've stepped forward to help the creative process. Saturday evening's performance was our largest paid audience yet, around 1800 strong.

Best of all, people are walking out of the theater feeling great about themselves and filled with more hope than when they came in. They're getting the message. And some of us in the cast are feeling a bit elevated ourselves, largely in part due to some very special energy that's come our way, courtesy of my cosmically tuned-in relative.
